25 seasons. 4 cups won since 2008. Hundreds of games, and thousands of fans. One quarter of Hawthorn's 100 years have been spent in northern Tasmania. 2026 marks 25 years of the Hawks in Launceston, a milestone that celebrates more than just football. Over the years, games have brought mainland visitors and locals together, creating a shared tradition, lifelong memories and a deep connection between club and community.
Don’t miss the action at UTAS Stadium this season as we celebrate this special chapter.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Launnie is ready to kick-off the 25-year celebrations with a splash of brown and gold. Come for the game and be part of the atmosphere, where connections are genuine, the cellar never runs dry, and the table is set in our City of Gastronomy; all that’s missing is you.

Launceston's footy fans have even more to celebrate this year with the debut of the Tasmania Devils. From 2026, the Tasmania Football Club will field teams in both the Smithy’s Victorian Football League (VFL) and the rebel Victorian Football League Women’s (VFLW). Both teams will take part in the competitions on a full-time basis from 2026, with fixtures to be staged across Tasmania, including UTAS Stadium here in Launceston.
In 2028 when the Devils make their AFL debut, they will play a share of their AFL games at UTAS Stadium, with the majority to be played at the new Hobart Stadium (and Bellerive Oval until that is built).
