Of all the producers on our list, none have called Launceston home longer than Boags. Over 160 years ago, James Boag moved halfway around the world from Scotland to the untamed island of Tasmania. There he began brewing in the township of Launceston on the banks of the Esk River, with the humble plan of using the outstanding local water and ingredients. Take a tour before purchasing beers and gift items from their newly rebuilt brewhouse.

While the brews are not made by Saint John Craft Beer Bar, the passion for (and variety of) craft beer is a unique offering of Launceston. The Saint John team pride themselves on their selection and knowledge of the finest international, Australian and Tasmanian craft beers, with over 170 bottled beers to either drink in or takeaway, and eight to fourteen rotating kegs on tap. They also serve gourmet burgers, chicken wings, and an array of other rotating meals made from locally sourced ingredients.
