Free parking in the city

Did you know that you can park for FREE between 3.30pm - 5.30pm every day.*

Free parking is available in the Paterson St West, Paterson St East and Elizabeth St multistorey car parks (Elizabeth St car park closed Sunday).

Bicycles

Launceston Central is the perfect place to cycle around. With a number of bike lanes and bike paths to use. Parking your bike is free and easy at one of the various bike racks located across the city.

City Sights Ride

The City Sights Ride, by Ride with GPS is a self-guided ride around the bike paths and sights of Launceston city and surrounds. Take in Launceston Central's historic buildings and parks, the pleasant off road Inveresk Trail, the peace of Heritage Forest Park, a view of some typical suburbs, and lovely views across the Tamar River.

Tiger Bus

The Tiger Bus is a free transport service throughout the central city district, running 7 days a week.* The free Tiger Bus operates on all public holidays, excluding ANZAC Day, Good Friday, Recreation Day or Christmas Day. All Tiger Bus services are operated by wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

*The FREE Tiger Bus operates 7 days a week between December to April.

Commuter Run River Explorer Run City Explorer Run Cataract Gorge Run
A dedicated route taking you from the Northern Car Park (off Forster Street) to the city centre, before and after working hours, between Monday and Friday. This route passes locations such as Seaport, QVMAG, Royal Park, Princes Square, and Launceston's CBD. This route passes key locations such as Launceston's CBD, Launceston General Hospital, Princes Square, City Park, and Launceston Leisure and Aquatic Centre. This route will take you all the way to the iconic Cataract Gorge, passing through Launceston's CBD along the way.
