What motivates you at work: Collaboration – having great conversations with amazing people and organisations to make great things happen
Favourite ways to unwind: Researching our next travel adventure, growing our own veggies and cooking yummy food, game nights with friends, and sewing bunting for a bit of craft fun—these are my happy places!
Charlotte Wright | Advertising and Strategy Specialist
Why I love my role at Launceston Central: I love finding out about all the incredible people that make up the heart of our city. The business owners, event organisers, and community that put their heart and soul into everything they do. There's so much going on in Launceston and working for Launceston Central you get to hear about it all!
What motivates you at work: Supporting local business owners. I grew up stuffing direct mail sent out by our family business and know how non-stop demands are on business owners. Anything I can do to help give businesses the recognition they deserve feels great!
A surprising thing you’re good at: Catching chickens (the living sort, not bags from Coles!)
Megan Byrd | People, Promotions and Communications Specialist
Why I love my role at Launceston Central: I love knowing what's happening in the local community, and that's why I started following Launceston Central shortly after moving to Tassie. Now I'm on the team and I get the inside scoop even sooner! I get to promote all of the unique businesses and events in the city centre that make Launceston a wonderful place to live.
What motivates you at work: Being able to contribute to the conversations driving Launceston is a big motivator, and putting a spotlight on the successes and hard work of our local business community.
A surprising thing you’re good at: While it has been many years since I've been on the field, I was Most Valuable Player of my soccer team in high school (striker).
Jade Pirker | Reporting and Administrative Coordinator
Why I love my role at Launceston Central: The people! We have such a positive and supportive work environment, and while we work hard, we have a lot of fun at the same time. For me, my role offers the ideal balance of creative and analytical work tasks to keep both sides of my brain happy, and I enjoy being the behind-the-scenes support to this team of intelligent and insightful creatives.
What motivates you at work: Creating structure for the chaos! The work we do at Launceston Central is broad, varied, multifaceted, and often fast-paced. I create and maintain simple systems to help the team manage complex projects and workloads, and translate our successes into succinct and digestible reports for our stakeholders.
Favourite way to unwind: A strong cup of tea in one hand, a good book in the other, and add a decadent piece of cake to the mix for good measure!
