Ride Launnie's best

Launnie locals love to ride, and the best way to uncover our top cycling spots is to strike up a conversation with us – we're more than happy to guide you.

Riverbend Park to Tailrace Park

Discover the joys of a 4km family-friendly cycling adventure from Riverbend Park to Tailrace Park, a leisurely 30–45 minute journey each way.

Along the route, take a moment to revel in breathtaking views from the kanamaluka / River Tamar platform and delight in spotting the area's charming native residents.

City sights ride

Begin your cycling adventure at the historic Brickfields Park, followed by coffee respite on George Street (Amelia Coffee Co. and Sweetbrew are great go-tos), and a visit to Design Tasmania for a touch of local craftsmanship. Explore off-road pathways along the scenic embankments of the North Esk River and meander through Heritage Forest. Conclude with a relaxed ride back to the city centre, taking in the beauty of kanamaluka / the River Tamar.

The course spans an accessible 16km and takes about 1–2 hours.

Cycleteering, anyone?

Take the family on an orienteering-inspired adventure from Cataract Gorge to the Esplanade, then celebrate the day's discoveries with lunch at Seaport or a picnic at Riverbend Park. This 6.7km ride takes about 1–2 hours.
