Lunar New Year Celebration 2024
Celebrated by many cultures across the world, the Lunar New Year is recognised as a time for renewal.
Join the festivities at QVMAG and celebrate the Year of the Dragon with our free community event at the Art Gallery at Royal Park.
There are a range of free activities for all ages to enjoy throughout the day:
* Take a guided tour of the Guan Di Temple and learn of the fascinating history of early Chinese migrants in the northern Tasmania region - tours at 11am, 12pm, 1.30pm *
* Take an energising Tai Chi session in the beautiful and unique setting of our art gallery - sessions at 11.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm *
* Try your hand at the ancient art of Chinese calligraphy from 11.00am to 2.30pm
* Families can get crafty in a special Make it Place activity session to create paper lanterns and dragons from 11.00am to 2.30pm
