This winter, we're transforming an unoccupied shop in the CBD into a bustling hub for eight weeks – this space will become Launnie's lounge room, a place in which you can relax and unwind, escape the cold, and enjoy some good company.
What you can expect:
- Live music from local acts
- Jam sessions where visitors are welcome to join in (there will be some instruments available to use in the space, or you can bring your own)
- Local art on display on The Lounge Gallery wall
- Chill times with vinyl playing
- Cosy couches, bean bags and rugs in the heated space
- Free fruit to snack on supplied by local producers
- Board games and jigsaw puzzles
- A small kids' corner for little ones to play in
- Quiet Hour to make the space is more accessible to those who need a sensory-friendly retreat
The Lounge is inspired by the concept of 'third places' – communal, accessible, free, safe, and uplifting spaces that very often turn out to be just the tonic people need from the effects of disconnection, and everyday mundanity and responsibility.

Calling on Launnie's finest soup-chefs (you read that right) to compete for the title of Best Soup in Launceston.
Soup aficionados can taste their way round a number of venues around the city participating in this year's competition, casting their vote for their ultimate favourite.
With the competition running for a month, see this as the perfect opportunity to sample Launceston's soup offerings over August and support the plethora of local eateries keeping us warm and well-fed this winter.

As the Hawks fly south to their home away from home this AFL season, get hunting for Hawka and your favourite Tassie football heroes who'll be hiding in sporty spaces across the city.
HOW TO ENTER THE DRAW
1. Find the five life-size cut-outs (four footy stars PLUS Hawka) scattered around the CBD.
2. Submit the entry form below and ensure you've entered with
a) your name and your contact details; and
b) the names of all five businesses in which you found Hawka and the players.
