Uncle Chicken
Delectable Korean fried chicken
A mum and pop chicken shop, Uncle Chicken serves delicious, authentic Korean-style fried chicken in a variety of signature sauces. Originally a food truck, Uncle Chicken now has a permanent home in a charming historical building on Brisbane Street. Order chicken on its own with a side of slaw, or enjoy it in a rice bowl with vegetables, greens, and a side of pickled daikon. The portions are generous in size, but be warned: you won't want to share once you dig in! Expect to find a rotation of different menu options as Chef Youngho likes to experiment with new dishes.
WHY WE LOVE IT
1. The juicy fried chicken is cooked to perfection, and retains its crunch even when its tossed in one of the many delicious sauces.
2. Simple and fresh, the pared down menu is focused and authentic.
3. While it travels well, we recommend tucking in immediately and enjoying your meal in the historic building Uncle Chicken occupies.
