Royal Park
Originally the site for Tasmania's first military barracks, Royal Park is now an established park adjacent to the Tamar River. Featuring a barbecue area, play space, skate park and outdoor exercise equipment; boardwalks and sealed paths provide links to the nearby Cataract Gorge reserve, Kings Park, the Queen Victoria Art Gallery and the Seaport.
WHY WE LOVE IT:
- Houses QVMAG's Gallery at Royal Park, a must-visit destination in Launceston
- Plenty of grassy areas perfect for sitting and enjoying lunch or a good book
- Skatepark, barbecue facilities, public exercise equipment and playground
- River views
- Fantastic eateries nearby
- Home of Beerfest's annual New Years Eve celebrations
