Jailhouse Grill
More than just a good steak
Jailhouse Grill is another Launceston favourite. This steakhouse has an extensive self-serve salad bar with all salads made fresh daily, a wide range of steaks available, as well as a full menu and optional set menu. Kid’s meals are available, as are gluten free options, and a huge wine list.
The Jailhouse Grill is continuing a 140 year tradition by offering fine food and beverage to locals and travellers alike. The building was constructed in the mid 1800s using handmade convict bricks from the brickfields some 500 metres away, and Launceston locals may remember it as The Richmond Hotel, Barnaby’s Hotel or the Ball and Chain Grill - though it was originally named The Prince of Wales.
