Where to park

Demand for parking will be high on Saturday, but if you can't avoid driving there are a variety of parking options available within the Launceston CBD within walking distance from UTAS stadium. For street parking, take notice of any restrictions, and download the EasyPay app for pay-by-phone service across paid parking areas.

Know before you go: getting around town and other insider tips

A lot of local legends will be enjoying the Foo Fighters, but with this being their one and only Australian stop on their international tour, town will be filled with a lot of visitors. Here are a few tips for getting around:

  • Getting to the CBD If you're coming from Hobart or Devonport (the Spirit of Tasmania dock) Kinetic are running shuttle buses into the city centre. Flying into Launceston? SkyBus will be meeting all flights from 22-24 January. Bookings are essential.
  • Walk when possible Big crowds means big demands on taxis, ubers, and public transit. Walk when possible! And if you aren't used to the Tassie sun, it hits different down here. Slip, slap, slop when you are exploring our city.
  • Get yourself a Green Card and take the bus in Metro will be running regular service throughout the day, make sure you have cash or grab yourself a Metro Green Card in advance if you plan to ride in on the bus. Having a late one? be sure to check the Metro timetables as the concert and after parties will outlast the bus service.
  • Carpool with friends Ridesharing: it's not just for Uber! If you plan to drive, travel in with friends to reduce road congestion.
  • Park out, walk in Save yourself time by parking outside of the CBD on side streets and walking in.
  • Accessible parking The Southern Inveresk Car Park (outside QVMAG) will be closed to the general public on the day of the concert, but will have accessible parking for DDA ticket holders.
  • Road closure outside UTAS Stadium Starting at 12pm on the day of the concert, Invermay Road between Forster Street and Lindsay Street will be closed.
  • E-Scooters are a handy resource for those wanting to move short distances fast. Download Beam and find your nearest.
  • Finding the facilities Before or after the big event, you might need help finding public amenities. Click here for a handy map of public toilets.
