Toss it away? No way!
Do you have a broken, torn, or busted household item? Bring it along to the Launceston Repair Café and learn how to fix it with the help of some expert repairers.
Item repairs include:
📱 Electronic, such as vacuums, toasters, kettles, small kitchen appliances, power tools, speakers and radios
🏕️ Hiking gear, such as tents, gaiters and packs etc.
🧵 Clothing/basic textiles mending†, such as hemming, basic tears, repair of holes etc.
🪑 Furniture – basic repairs
🚲 Bikes, such as gear indexing, brake alignment, replacing bike tubes* and swapping over parts*,
🔪 Knife and tool sharpening
... and other general repairs, depending on repairer availability.
To register your item for the next Repair Café, visit here.
1pm–4pm, third Saturday of every month. Please bring in your items before 3pm to ensure repairers have time to look at them.
PLEASE NOTE that Repair Cafes are NOT a drop off service – you must be willing to assist with the repair of your item.
†For more extensive clothing repairs, please visit the ReDress Hub's RePair Cafe, which occurs on the first Saturday of each month.
*Note that specialist parts will NOT be supplied by the Repair Café and must be brought with the item (e.g. bike tube, bike tire, cables, etc)
