I hope you are all doing well and having a great and prosperous summer season. We have been working over January putting together some really great information and collateral for you to use. Keep an eye on your mail this month!
Later this month we will be posting you an exciting Launceston Central Stakeholder pack. Following our rebrand last year we have been working hard to use our new colours, logo, name and identity to drive even more visitors to our social media and new website.
If you haven’t checked out the website, you should! It is such an asset to the city and is where you can send all your customers that ask questions about what to do in Launceston and where to find things. Every business in the city centre is listed with a personalised description. Businesses are categorised and colour coded and can be added to an individuals itinerary. All businesses are tagged with their product type, or dietary specialities and can be searched on. We also have a comprehensive events guide. The go to place for ‘What’s on’ and ‘Where to go’ in Launceston – we are ‘Your Guide to the City’!
In the pack you will find some promotional items and a list of more that you can order – free of charge – to put on your counter and give to customers to lead them to the information on our website when they are looking for what to do or where to find particular products or types of hospitality venues. The stakeholder guide will give you an overview of all we do and how you can get involved and leverage off our free marketing and promotional services. We want you to be successful and the more you can tell us about your business and any news you have on new products, menus, anniversaries or seasonal stock changes, the better!
We hope all the work we have done knowing you, your stores, and the streets of Launceston will help you when chatting to visitors or locals. We all aim to encourage people to shop local and visit the city more frequently and for longer. Our team genuinely loves Launceston and whole heartedly believes we have a beautiful city centre with an unusually special and sizeable selection of independent local retailers combined with great regional and national stores, we want to let as many people know about what we love as possible, and get them to join your customer communities!
We have been working with City of Launceston and just before Christmas the Mayor and I launched the ‘Reminder to be Kinder’ campaign. There are decals and badges around plus social tiles that can be shared through your Facebook and Instagram accounts to keep friendly and polite behaviour front of mind. We know it can be difficult to be in your shoes sometimes.
Feedback on Christmas in the city activations was overwhelmingly positive in our public survey. City of Launceston had done a great job on the newly decorated and revamped tree and everyone enjoyed the entertainment that we had organised in the mall and felt the city was vibrant and fun to visit. There were record numbers of Santa letters received and replied to and a really great number of entries to our new audio ‘Find the Reindeer’ competition on the Storytowns App.
Our Boutique Week program is coming along really well. You have until Wednesday 14th February to let us know if you want to run an event, showcase or soiree for your existing and new customers. Being in the program will elevate your marketing and we would love to see more of our small independent stores leverage off this activation and extend their reach and profile. This is RETAIL’s chance to stand out and shine and build the reputation of our unique local shopping scene.
