Tenebris
Handmade dumplings, hand shaken cocktails
One of Launceston’s more unique bar offerings, Tenebris serves handmade Nepalese-style dumplings (also known as Momos) and bespoke cocktails. Described as “a moody, ambient bar and dumpling house” by news outlets upon its opening, Tenebris definitely lives up to that expectation.
Tenebris is owned by well-known Norwood restaurant Apricus’ Josh Brown, who roped his restaurant manager Ciarra Dundas into the new venture as co-owner. When asked about the name Tenebris, Josh said - “Tenebris is the opposite of Apricus. Apricus (is Latin for) ‘filled with sunshine’, Tenebris is ‘filled with darkness’,” hence why the new space would be “dark and moody.”
Tenebris also holds events, so be sure to scope out their social pages to see what’s coming up.
