Mortels Sheepskin Factory
Australian-made sheepskin products you won't find anywhere else
Mortels Sheepskin Factory is now open in Launceston, their first and only retail location outside of New South Wales. A family-owned business, Mortels opened its flagship store in 1958, and they continue to be one of the longest and continuously operating sheepskin factories in the world. Their products are Australian-made from Australian grown sheep, and Mortels only distribute in Australia through their own retail outlets. That means Launceston is now one of the only locations on the planet where you can purchase these products in person!
We love wearing UGGs year-round, but you'll really appreciate Mortels boots during the coldest months of Tassie winter. They offer a wide range of styles of UGG slippers and boots, from infant to adult size. They also carry a selection of rugs, pillows, and children's products, including popular sheepskin teddies. Don't miss their pet care products too -- your pup will love the snuggle pet beds.
WHY WE LOVE IT
1. The selection of styles cannot be beat. It is a challenge to leave empty-handed!
2. Their baby and children's products will help keep your little ones warm; we especially love the sheepskin pram underlay.
3. Their Bitza UGG Boots, made from cut-offs of every colour, are highly unique and a sustainable product, too.
