ReDressed at ReDress | ReFashioning Clothing Competition
In collaboration with The ReDress Hub's ReDressed Support sponsors, the Tasmanian Waste and Resource Board and Circular North, ReDressed is back for another year!
In a Nutshell
ReDressed is an opportunity for you to redesign and remake an old garment into a 'new' one – extending the life of the garment and keeping it in use for longer – as part of a competition and refashion parade.
You will choose an existing garment(s) either from a secondhand source or your own wardrobe and upcycle it to be a ‘new’ wearable garment/outfit, not an ‘artpiece’ or a garment that can or would only be used once.
Your garment/outfit will be judged by a panel of expert judges in various categories and 25 finalists will be selected for the ReDressed Fashion Parade to be held at The Italian Club, Prospect in Launceston on the 15th November.
Prizes will be awarded in each category. Details will be provided on prizes shortly.
Who can enter?
ReDressed is for Tasmanian experienced amateur and professional garment makers, using any sewing, knitting, crochet etc clothing making techniques. Beginners are welcome to ‘give it a go’ but need to be mindful that garments will also be judged on craftsmanship.
There are four participant categories:
Under 18
Adult amateur
Professional designer maker
Fashion and/or textile design tertiary student
