Ghost Light | Princess Theatre, Launceston
The story goes that if a theatre is ever left completely empty (or dark), a ghost will take up residence. And the only way to prevent this is to leave a single ghostlight burning on centre stage.
In 2020, as the flashing lights of Broadway and the West End went dark, one beacon of hope remained: ghostlights. Ghostlights shone through the darkness and reminded us all that performance, music, and human connection would return.
A staple of Australian Musical Theatre Festival’s programming, and a sell-out every year, Ghostlight is a theatre tour with a difference. A beguiling mix of history, architecture, and performance, this is your chance to go behind-the-scenes of Launceston’s historic Princess Theatre and watch as it comes to life through stories of history and song.
