Dill Pickle Presents The Hannibal Lectures
A series of talks to delight and inspire
Join the Dill Pickle Club for a midwinter night’s journey through art and architecture. From Ukiyo-e Japanese woodblock prints to the psychography of Paris, through totemic architecture, pavilions of the smell and touch of water to The Queen's Gambit, our inaugural lecture explores architecture that crosses floating worlds of the city, country and self.
Floating Worlds is the first of Dill Pickle Club's Hannibal Lectures – a series of talks designed to intrigue, inspire and entertain. Presented by Simon Whibley, co-director of Melbourne and Hobart-based architectural practice Workshop Architecture. In his former role at Melbourne’s RMIT University, Simon’s research examined relationships between art, architecture and urban design. This lecture builds on this work, captured in his PhD thesis Drifting In Place: Looking and Moving Through Architecture, and reflects on projects by Workshop Architecture, including our Dill Pickle Club.3 July 7 PM
