Discover current consumer trends, gain access to valuable business advice, and network with local support organisations. This event is part of our commitment to becoming a 'Business friendly council,' focusing on empowering our small business sector.

KEY NOTE SPEAKERS:

Dr Louise Grimmer is one of Australia's leading retail researchers, and joins us as one of the keynote speakers for the 'Building a Thriving Business' workshop. Dr. Grimmer lectures at UTAS and is a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Place Management in the UK. She brings extensive knowledge in consumer behaviour, small city retailing, and strategies for local businesses to stand out in today's competitive market. Dr. Grimmer is recognised for her research on enhancing the visitor economy and supporting small businesses. She is also the founder of Shopology, an independent retail consultancy. During her session, Dr. Grimmer will share invaluable insights from her recent research, focusing on current consumer preferences and practical strategies for small businesses to thrive in Launceston.

Kelly Brown from Business Tasmania

Business Tasmania helps Tasmanians to start, run and grow their business by offering personalised assistance, information and access to a range of services and programs from the Department of State Growth and other government agencies. The Business Tasmania team make it easier for the community to talk to government and access available support.

Steven Heslop from the Tasmanian Business Advice Service

Steven is a chartered accountant and advisor delivering the state Government’s Tasmanian Business Advice Service in Launceston and surrounding local government areas. Steven will provide an overview of the service which provides up to five hours of free advice and support to existing small businesses each year. In addition Steven will talk about how to manage your businesses cashflow and strategies to manage your ATO obligations.

Post presentation there will be the opportunity to network round a series of information tables with representatives from:
