Voting is now closed, and Launceston Central is pleased to announce the winner of the inaugural Slice-a-licious competition is Launnie Heights with their signature Tassie Laddu Slice!
Running over the last two weeks of winter, Launnie Heights (112-114 George St) has taken the top spot in the competition to determine who in Launceston has the best slice. Inspired by the popular Indian pastry, their signature Tassie Laddu Slice proved the most popular among the 9 entries. The runner-up for Slice-a-licious was Mad Apple Café with their Apple Crumble Slice.
This year’s competition was the first to focus on slices, and enthusiasm for the classic pastry was high. Many participating venues sold out of their signature slices throughout the two-week competition, struggling to keep up with demand.
If you missed the chance to vote, you can still visit all of the 9 participating businesses and try their signature slices. There was only one official winner in Slice-a-licious, but the local community has won the real reward: another reason to support local and enjoy lots and lots of sweet treats.
Visit all 9 and try their signature slices and more.
