GRAMMY® Award–winning vocalist and guitarist Ruthie Foster returns to Australia in 2026. Frequently likened to Aretha Franklin for her emotional depth and vocal power, Foster blends blues, gospel, folk, and soul with remarkable authenticity. Her masterful guitar playing is as celebrated as her spine-tingling voice. Following her first GRAMMY® Award for Mileage (2024), she continues to affirm her place as one of America’s most compelling artists. Audiences can expect an unforgettable night of soul, spirit and world-class musicianship.

Ruthie will be performing at an amazing venue in Launceston, The Ark(On the Square). Formerly the City Baptist Church it is a special performance space with terrific acoustics and atmosphere. Her last Australian tour arrived just weeks after she received her first GRAMMY® Award for Mileage (2024), produced by Tyler Bryant for Sun Records. Celebrated for its emotional honesty and craftsmanship, the album cemented her place as one of America’s defining modern storytellers.

A product of a gospel-rich upbringing in Gause, Texas, Foster found her voice in church before studying music, serving in the U.S. Navy, and developing her songwriting in New York. Her acclaimed albums - including Runaway Soul, The Phenomenal Ruthie Foster, The Truth According to Ruthie Foster, and Healing Time- reflect the breadth of her artistry. She has also collaborated with Bonnie Raitt, Susan Tedeschi, Derek Trucks, and other
luminaries.
