Launceston Distillery, located at the historic Hangar 17 at Launceston Airport, is celebrated for its commitment to traditional whisky production methods. Using local barley and pure Tasmanian water, Launceston Distillery produces a range of premium whiskies that capture the unique character of the region. Chris Condon, the distillery's head distiller, will provide insights into their meticulous process, from grain selection to maturation, revealing how they achieve the rich, complex flavors that define their whiskies.

In contrast, Heartwood Malt Whisky, founded by Tim Duckett, is renowned for its bold and unconventional approach to whisky making. Tim has earned a reputation for creating some of the most sought-after Tasmanian whiskies. Heartwood's whiskies are known for their intense, robust flavors, a result of Tim’s willingness to push boundaries and experiment with maturation techniques and cask selection. Tim will share stories from his journey, offering a glimpse into the philosophy that drives Heartwood’s unique creations.

Throughout the evening, you’ll explore the evolution of Tasmanian whisky and gain a deeper understanding of how these distilleries have contributed to its rise on the global stage.
